How long untill corals open up all the way?

I just set up a 20 gal high coral tank , i have a 250 w metal halide and reef octopus bh100 skimmer. I have been adding kent nano part a and b calcium. I added my first frag a zoo's ( TO SEE how my water's doing) how long before the heads should strat to open up. they open up but not as much as in the store. they have been in the tank 3 days?

how long has the tank been set-up?
what are your parameters?

You should use test kits too see how your water is "doing", not an experimental coral.

ya, if params are all good, then they should be opening soon, if they dont in another day or two, something may be wrong.

i would also place them on the bottom of the tank to acclimate them to the light too.

Thats a LOT of light for that little tank. You will need to light acclimate everything you add.

my tank has be running with nothing in it just live sand and live rock for 3 week. I started adding calcium after the first week .I have test kits( ph&alkalinity, and calcium) they read between 350 and 400 for calcium.
and about 7.8 to 8.0.
