What is the best method to move my salt mix out of the storage container and into the

.....display tank. Should I just dunk a 5 gallon bucket in there or use a pump or siphon it out?

I use a pump, then pump it back into the tank.

any of them will work. I use a 44 gallon brute trash can .I put a bulk head with a shut off valve on the bottom front and use that to fill a 5 gallon bucket

I have a 250 gallon reservoir that is constantly being filled with RO water. It has a heater with ranco controller and circulation pump. I mix the saltwater and keep it heated and circulating. The circulation system can be diverted to pump it to one of the sumps in the basement. Voila!!

pretty much the same setup as snorvich, but in a 55g barrel. I have schlepped WAY too many buckets over the years - arrange it so that you don't have to if at all possible - well worth the small investment in time and $

I pump the RO/DI water out of the Brute Can into a 5 gallon bucket. Then I mix in salt. I'll usually let the salt water "cure" for a day.

Then I carry the bucket over to the tank and pump it out of the 5 gallon bucket into the sump.

Voila!

Thanks for the ideas. I have a Brute trash can. I guess I need to rig some sort of pump/bulkhead to it to fill a 5 gal bucket which is just about 8% of my tank. Then schlep it about 290 feet to my DT.

Anyone have any pictures?

Anyone have any pictures of your method for getting your storage water out of its container?

yah. I do the same as above. A bulkhead with ball valve on the bottom, I fill up 5gal buckets, and schlep it straight to my display about 40' away, where I use a pump to pump it from the buckets into the sump.

we have a brute trash can on a dolly that is made to fit it. we push the can right up to the tank and as others have said, pump it right into the display...

I use an outside water butt (like you would use to collect rainwater off your roofs) They conveniently have a tap at the bottom to run the water off from.

Like snorvich's set up this is connected to my RO unit. I have raised the butt up above my sump so all I have to do to top off is open the tap.
