closest in color and PAR to 250w Helios 20K DE?

I just bought a Helios 250w 20k DE two weeks ago and now it will not fire. (I bought it from PA and Jeremy advises that they are having so many problems with these bulbs that they have discontinued stocking them as of last week).

In any event, I am looking at a replacement. I really liked the color of that Helios bulb (too bad it was of poor quality). Jeremy suggested a Geismann 20K.

Looking for a suggestion as to a lamp similar in color and close in PAR to the Helios. This lamp will run without any supplementation.

Thanks in advance.

Yes - I ran Phoenix for a year. On my M80 ballast, they are a little too white so I was looking for something bluer. I really liked the Helios color - it's too bad they are unreliable.

if pheonix is too white so then will be the ushio 20k, I would try the XM 20k or the geismann.

The EVC 20K is very similar to the Helios 20K. Similar spectral plot and similar PAR.

I think the EVC 14 is a close match

I talked with Chad at ReefScience about the EVC. It turns out he bought the company. He stated that the "guts" of the EVC are the same as the Helios but that they are made on different machines. In any event, I went with the EVC 20k, so I will update once I get it and burn it in. Thanks to all for their input!
