mangroves, mangroves, mangroves!

just set up a fuge and have added a mangrove. my question is, is there an ideal way to root this thing? I currently have the roots completly buried in the dsb, but most pics of maqngroves i see have the roots at least partially exposed.

Do i have to keep some of the roots exposed or is it ok to completly submerge them in the sand?

The pics you are seeing are of mature mangroves. Once yours is 15 feet tall, its roots will be sticking halfway out of the water. At 15" tall, keep 'em totally covered.
