pic's of my harlequin shrimp pair ...female holding eggs!

ive had these guys for a few months now. hey were purchased seperately and took to each other immediatly. they get a choc chip star once a month. any ways about a week ago i noticed the larger of the two with a bulge under its abdomin . i used my trusted high power flash light and there and behold eggs were being held tight by the paddles under the shrimp. too bad i have no way to keep these babies when the hatch and if harvest. also feeding small larva like harlequin shrimp babbies is most likly tough. oh well more food for the sea horses.
heres the pictures

first one shows the eggs look close under the belly

picture of the pair

I've no idea if those are eggs or not, but if so then congrats! It would be pretty cool to try to raise them, but I don't blame you for not trying. it can be quite the challenge.

okay i have paired a few in the past. the recent pair that i have i purchased a small one first and the next day i got one that was bigger..they immediately paired up. the best way to get a pair is try and find somewhere that has more than one. observe them for a few minutes watch for ones that stay close to another shrimp they are most likly paired or will pair up. if you have to pyrchase them seperatly id try to get one bigger than the other and keep your fingers crossed. in the past ive tried pairing by adding a few and watching them pair but that ussually leads to fighting not pairing.
