james3370, I am possibly interested... An idea how much the setup you are ordering is going to run? I also may want to get the BRS "DUAL" GFO and Carbon Reactor for 59.99 but want to know what the discounted price would be?

for your's, the reactor base price is 59.99 as you said....discounted price is 54.99, so the discount covers the shipping when mine is combined in there.....so call it $60 shipped

you might want to consider ordering the carbon & gfo while you're at it since combining shipping. here are the prices of each (item - base price - discounted price)

carbon:
1.25lb - 9.99 - 8.99
1gal (3lbs) - 14.99 - 13.99
2gal (6lbs) - 26.99 - 23.99

gfo:
1lb - 23.99 - 20.99
2lbs - 39.99 - 37.99
1gal (4.5lbs) - 69.99 - 66.99

you can goto the site & put everything you want in a basket & that will give you the shipping price & then use the discounted prices of the items instead of the regular prices for a total

my items will only add a few $$ to the shipping, so i'll cover any shipping difference they add to it

Just as a reminder to anyone who did not make the bulk club buy last February and get the preferred status, you can create your account at BRS and then email Andrew@reefchili.com and let him know your user name and that you are a member of MTRC, and he will update your account to the discount prices.

It is still advantageous to order together to save on shipping, but if you don;t need anything now, this helps you for later.

Andy, thanks, I didn't realize that's how that worked. Darn, I could've saved a few bucks last week. Oh well, an excuse to order again!

yeah, i wasn't aware people could still get in on the discount account status....thought it was just during the group buy

but anywhoo, this still works to combine shipping....especially if somebody just needs a small item or 2

James, I know Wayne was interested in at least one of the aquahubs as well, if you haven't heard from him yet.

That is what I recall Andrew telling me last February, but even still it's not hard to get preferred status. The other way is if you have ordered 3 times and give 3 product reviews. Then email him and walla, you get the slight discount status on your account.

When I coordinated the group order in February, he said we could do as many group orders as we would like, just need to have 10 people in on it. With the group order folks get the low bulk order price without having to order multiple items. It may be advantageous to go this route as it will apply to most items. The preferred discount is very good to have but not all items at BRS can be discounted. If we go with a group order count me in.
Tim

yeah a group would be kewl

for instance, the dual chamber carbon/gfo reactor is regularly 59.99 - preferred discount price is 54.99 - group buy price is 49.99

the way to check is to look at each item's price chart. the base price is the regular, the next lowest price is the preferred discount price & the lowest price is the group buy price. if the price is the same for all quantities, there is no discounted price

the ato kit only gets preferred member discount. group buy price is the same.....but it's still $5 cheaper than getting it direct from aquahub which is almost enough to cover the shipping. the aqualifter pump is the same price no matter, but still cheaper than i've seen it on most sites
