Pump Vibration

What do you use to reduce vibration on your pumps? I have 2 alita airpumps as well as 2 sequence hammerheads that I would like to get quiter

If you can, try putting some polystyrene or rubber foam under them. That’s what I have done. As long as it is clean and inert you can use it.

if they are in the sump a computer mouse mat is a good method, providing its rubber of course

You just isolate them from anything that is firmly mounted or carries vibration. usually that is some type of a pad underneath them and then a section of spa flex or other type of less ridged plumbing on both the intake and output side of the pump. This will usually knock the noise down substantially. From there, small tweaks such as adding insulated mounts for the PVC etc can help...

Thanks Guys. It seems most people are voting for mouse pads. I forgot to mention that these pumps are all external pumps
