Lighting a 16" x 16" SPS tank

My tank is 16" x 16" x 21" (L x W x H), and currently being lit by a Current USA 20@ Nova Extreme pro. While I get pretty good colours and decent growth, the intensity of colours has been lacking, leaving me wanting to upgrade.

The two routes I'm considering now are going with a single 250W HQI pendant, or going with a 24" T5HO fixture (4 - 6 bulb).

Wondering what people's thoughts on my options are. Woe is me choosing a smaller tank - should have gone big to start with

Below is a pic of my tank - I'm SPS heavy, and intend to have a SPS dominated nano. For cooling I will be picking up some fans (GHL Profilux) either way, and I already run an ATO (Tunze).

These are two tanks I always think of when nano and SPS are mentioned.
