Lost a Mexican turbo last nite

Well found one of two two week old Mexican Turbos dead this morning . I talked to Live Aquaria teck he mentioned testing for righr amount of iodine. Seems that salt should heve what i need correct? Just seems I can't get this tank under controle . With one thing or another. Going to test water right now. Will post results

Could have just been his time. I don't think dosing iodine would have done anything for you.

Yea, most salt mixes will provide enough. I can't recall the last time I dosed iodine.

It very well could have starved to death. IMO, a 25 is too small for a turbo. Once in a while I will move one of mine (( from my 75 )) over to my 33 to clear out some red turf algae. Within a week all algae is gone, if I don't move it back it will start to slow down, and not do much. A move back to the 75 will perk it back up --- more algae.

He seemed to be eating the other one still on glass. I've posted here before on rule of thumb on how many you need for tank this size as far as CUC ????

Alot of time turbos wont live long in home aquariums. Ive had some die in a week and some last 6 months. They tend to starve I think.

Turbos are sensitive to temp and salinity. They cant stand warmer tanks, and also if the SG is different in your new tank than what they were in, they will die about 5-7 days later. Some things to consider.

k9gunner I see you have met three men traveling that were not very friendly in your journey . I ran into these same fellas in 1989. To keep this on subject I will say these fellas were not interested in the hobby!!
