Valves cause microbubbles?

I have a cheap ball valve on my main return line. It hasnt caused it before but can age start to cause microbubble production? I don't see any salt deposits around the valve. This is a recent problem, nothing else in the system has been changed.

Yes, if it is before the pump. No, if it is in the return line after the pump.
