Orchid Dottback addition
Would it be fine to add a Orchid Dottyback as the final fish to my tank? Currently, have a False Percula Clown, Yellow Tang, Sixline Wrasse, Juvenile Imperator Angel, Dwarf Flame Angel, Yellow Watchman Goby, and Lawnmower Blenny.

Sounds like it would get along well in there....
Do you consider your self a heavy feeder? How is the balance in the tank right now? I can think of all the fish colors you have in there right now, so i will just ask. Are there any purple fish/fish with some amount of purple in the tank now? The reason i ask it because that is the only time i see aggression out of my pseudo (when it sees the blue/yellow damsel...because the pseudo is mostly yellow).

I hope it never catches on, I like having the oldest tank on here and I don't have to worry about calcification, bio pellets, Vodka dosing, DSBs, Chaetomorpha (I don't even know what that is) Carbonite hardness and all of these other things many people worry about. If I had to think about all of that stuff I would get a stroke. My test kit came in a wooden box and the directions say to keep in a cool chariott. I throw some food in the tank, wave hello to the fish and go out with my wife and have a nice glass of merlot with dinner. Have a great day but most of all, have fun. -PaulB Current Tank Info: 27 Gallon DAS softy/fish reef |

Dottybacks can be delicate. especially at first. If you do it, try to get a big one. If they get picked on, they just wont make it. I tried a couple times thinking I had ample hiding places (which I do) It didnt work out. they got picked on by everyone but my hippo tang. No matter where it hid, it got flushed out. The next morning, my coral banded shrimp was smokin a dottyback cigar

I had to get rid of the one I had in my tank because he chased out a lawnmower blenny, 2 manderins, one clown, and tried to get my other one. When I took him hto the pet shop to trade him in the owner look at him and said " little a holes, arn't they" and gave me $10 credit.

I currently have a fridmani and a indigo in my reef tank(90) and I can tell you thats its said to add that fish last,Im sure its due to how aggressive they can be.Ive seen them chase my pink tail and huma triggers..lol I also have a neon dotty in my 55,which I added last and it chases down and eventually kills anything I added after him. They sure are miniature groupers with attitude. But they are great fish, dont miss a move you make and fun to have around.gd luck in yr choice
