skimmer opinion mrc-6r

I think I have picked my skimmer for my 300gal reef w/ 500gal total system volume. This will be on a sps dominated tank. skimmer will be mrc-6 recirculating skimmer. I know it is not the most effient but i want something that is very productive.

do you think this is to big for my tank?

can i just run a drain line from my dt to this skimmer instead of pumping from sump to it?

i want to run ozone should i run it in this skimmer or separate from the skimmer?
