Q's about lighting my 10 gallon nano...?
I started this tank with the idea that it would just be a FOWLR, but now that it's been up and running around 3 months and the param's have been checking out very well for about 7 weeks I'm thinking of taking the plunge into some softies.
I already have an AGA 55w pc fixture and was wondering if that would be too much light? I'm currently running 2 10 watt screw in self balasted pc's but 2 watts per gallon isn't enough is it? The AGA fixture would bump me up to 5.5 watt's per gallon and all I'd have to buy is a 50/50 bulb. I suppose my question is will the 55w pc be enough? I want to keep this tank running, while I build a 75 gallon system over the next few months and I'd like to have some frags ready by the time the larger tank is ready for them. Thanks in advance guy's. |

The AGA fixture sounds perfect, just get the 50/50 bulb and you're set. You could keep softies and LPS.

Do you think that I'll have algae issues with 5.5 watts per gallon?
