Users with Profilux Controllers will be able to use this

http://webtrolley.org/mivastore/merc...egory_Code=QSO

The input card should be releasing this month.
With that you be able to data log and set alarms or even dimmed the lights to the proper par levels.

Also the card can be use with other sensors these are just a few.

C02 bottle pressure
flow meter
current sensors

Both are the same, but you want the 0-5v not the 0-2.5v range so your Resolution is higher or more sensitive.
This is the sensor you want to get, will work with a normal meter and Profilux Controller.

Steve you need to be clear on what and why , when you recommend equipment to people.

Those sensors are not amplified, they will not work with the controllers, they only work with a meter capable reading millivolts.

Did anyone ever do this? I think you want the sunlight version. But no gain, gain to 2.5 or 5 volts. And which one is multiplied by 5? Anyone know the range on the unadjusted on?

How about calibration? I think there is a little more to this then just reading the sensors output.

I called them up. They have three sensors and they are calibrated in fact the multiplication factor is on a label on the lead. The first sensor has not gain and every millivolt is 5 umol m^2 /s (). For $50 (IIRC) more you can get one that has a gain of 5 every millivolt is 1 unit. And antoher with a of 10 and evert /2 millivolt is one unit. These wo need an extra 5 olt (IIRC) power supply. If you had a really cheap meter it might not work or might work better with one of the gain sensors.

The cost is $139 plus $15 ground (or $25 3 day). If you order 20 they give you 20% off. I and another club member am ordering one next week. I will post when I have some results.

I ordered the sunlight version. I compared to a club meter and was about 10% off. I am guessing the club meter is the electric version. They should differ by 10% if so, but I am not sure how to determine which one the club has.

I would do it again, but probably order the electric one.

Got it...

I ended up ordering a SQ-100 (sunlight), and am just using a Fluke73 to read it's output.

Did that work for you? I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

The sun light worked fine for me, but seems most people use the electric reference version.

Thank you. I'm assuming that there are no problems repeatedly submerging Apogee sensors in saltwater (please correct me if I'm wrong ).

Now they are completely sealed. As near as I can tell these are the exact same sensor that is on the meter. Just no meter attached. Radioshack has a dual banna plug that fit the spacing on my meter. I screwed the wired into the plug and add strain relief (really thin wires) and now it is plug and play.
