My Clams dying 1 by 1, Help!

i lost a small maxima and a crocea allready. This morning i noticed another small maxima is unresponsive and sunk in the shell. I dont understand whats happening here. All parameters are fine. Why are they dying 1 by 1. I completely didnt expect this. Really frustrating.

I had the crocea for like 3 months. It was on sand and started losing some color so i put it up higher. I then purchased 3 small maximas and placed them up high to start. They were fine for a week or two and then start dying 1 at a time. First i lost a maxima, then the crocea, now another maxima lookin bad.

i did change the flow, added some light waves. Do these things just die like this all the time or could have the new clams been sick?

Pictures would help, I'm not even close to a clam guy but if you ask a mod to move this to the clam forum you might get better help there.

I'm guessing they are going to tell you to do a fresh water dip.

When you say "small" clams..how small? Usually anything under 3" or so is pretty difficult to keep alive. My only other guess would be some water parameter being off..have you checked your levels?

There is also something called pinched mantle disease although I know very little about it..you may want to read up on it. HTH

they are all under 3" except for the crocea which was 5". All my water params are normal. they just sink into their shell all of a sudden.

What is "normal" for your parameters? It would be helpful to know the actual numbers, including salinity, cal, alk and Mag.
