phosphate parameters = Phosban Reactor

For months I have 0.5ppm phosphate levels. I consider my tank as having managable algae. Would the addition of a Phosban Reactor bring my levels to 0 ppm? Do you run it occasionally, or all the time? As you can tell I have never used one before. Any and all advise is greatly appreciated.
