How long to QT corals from Icky tank?
I have some frags from a tank that has ick infected fish.
My concern is that some stage of the parasite may be present on the base of the frags. How long should I keep them in a fishless isolation tank before they are safe? |

I'm interested in the answer to this as well. My guess is the same amount of time you would leave the tank without fish. Hopefully one of the experts will chime in.

Five to six weeks. Usually the longest lifespan for ich in the rocks or sand before they hatch is about 4 weeks, averages about a week. The five to six weeks is just in case there is some real outlier that did not "hatch" on time. Once they hatch they only live up to about two days without a fish host and then they die. Lesley
