Mantis shrimp help..Please

Can I do a high salinity dip on my LR. Or will this put my tank in a new cycle. I can not trap the thing. I am ready to dip with salinity of 1.40 i read. I heard this will not harm the Rock. But I want to make sure.

I believe this is a double post?

any how here is my answer that I posted on the other thread

why not remove the live rock ---put it in a plastic pails with the water from your tank. You can use the water from your tank and drain it even further to make it easier to get the mantis.
After you have caught it--dump everthing back in--monitor ammonia levels and if they spike at all do a water change.

I remember a thread where the LR that the Mantis was in was removed, then freshwater was poured on the LR and this got Mantis to come out of rock to capture.
