I really like seachem reef salt when I used it, but the last bag or two I got seem to precipitate really bad when mixing, so I switch to Coralife and I am equally impressed. High In Potassium and Magnesium.......working for me! SPS seems to respond well after water changes!

I have been using SCRS for some time, the only advice i have is shake up the bucket well before using it or else you will find the paramters off. I got a kH value of 5 after letting the bucket sit for a while. But once shaked and mixed properly it comes out about 8KH (7 not counting the boron level)
Lately ive been mixing IO to SCRS 3.5:1.5 ratio and been getting a KH value of roughly 8.5 (8 roughly once taken boron out) Ca at 420 Mg at 1340-1360

Hi I used to use reef crystals in my old 46 and 72 then I switched over to Seachem reef salt over 1 1/2 years ago You must and I repeat you must shake/mix/roll/bang that bucket of salt if you mix it well you will have great results I emailed them about the boron and alk issue and was told that its not a problem anymore ,when I switched salt my sps colors looked so much better after 2 months no unwanted algea my green nepthea got a nice dark green color and all my sps got a nice rich color to them I've tried almost every salt in my old tanks and with running a calcium/reactor it keeps my alk right at 8 1/2 to 9 dkh right were I want it ,my tank is calcium 540,mag 1500,I rum mag chips in my calcium/reactor and my mag stays spot on at 1500.In my new 120g tech seachem reef salt is the only salt that I would ever put in my system ,one of my friends made the switch and in 3 months his sps are all coloring up nice ,some pics of my tank ,I only dose once or twice a month iodine ,I feed crazy amounts of food 4 to 5 times a day I have a very big skimmer and I dose zeovit amino acid as I feel needed for color tweaking .The point I want to make is I feel a good salt is the backbone of any tank having a salt that you have to keep adding stuff to is not giving you the stability that a tank needs ,you need a good skimmer ,strong light, and stability = a great sps tank .I buy 2 buckets at a time so I get the same batch when I'm down to my last bucket I order 2 more and the last bucket I mix 50 50 with a new bucket just part of my madness !
