PVC Leak Fix Needed...
I have a leak where an elbow is connected to a pipe. Is there something I could do to seal around that pipe without sawing and replacing it? It seams to be a fairly continuous drip. The pipe is a 2" pipe used for a drain in a closed loop system.

i had this problem and the only sure way to fix it is to saw and re-glue. If it was a small leak you could wrap teflon tape around it and put pvc glue all around that. But it might not work.

If it is just a drain and not having any water pressure on it from pumps.......aquamend from home depot would work. I have used it before on drains with no issues....if you are just setting up and time is not an issue...just re-do it....

There are numerous putties, tapes, wraps etc you can try but... IMHO... The long term solution is really to just cut it out and replace it. I've tried the other fixes, and they'd usually hold for a while, but either I never quite trusted 'em and was always crawling back there to check on it, or they failed anyway, and I'd end up cutting it out and replacing the area anyway, so.....

You could easily just clean it well & use some 2 part epoxy. Use a popsicle stick to spread it around the fitting.

There are a few products that you can use that will seal it. I have tried & used them before, but they only worked for a short time. After a while it started to drip again.
The only thing that really worked was to cut it & fix it correctly.
