question about ich

I know that ich is about the size of a grain of salt but does it appear smaller or even impossible to see on really small fish? Reason im asking is because im QT a hippo tang about an inch in size and started seeing him swim against the plastic ornament in there for him to hide in. I always treat my fish with copper to be safe before the go into the DT but never thought if maybe ich is smaller on smaller fish.. anyone know?

Ich is not smaller if on a smaller fish. It is actually too small to see with the naked eye no matter what. I think the appearance of white spots are not the actual parasite, but actually a spot on the fish's skin, where the parasite was attached.
