Tank Algae Inspection Pics.
Eventually i will be moving the LR, Corals, and Fish from my nano to a 90 gallon. I want to make sure everything is good in my current nano before any of that happens.
the tank is over a year old and is doing very well, allthough I do have a red hard algae growing on the rocks. I thought it was cyano, but its hard and I even tried to scrub it off with a tooth brush with no effect. Is this algae good? or at-least benign? See here: You can really see the comparison to the purple coralline algae in the last pic with the coral beauty. |

Looks like a red coralline to me. I wouldn't worry. Nice tank by the way. Make sure to post pics of your 90.

+1 with Salty Dr but you could scrub the rock with a toothbrush and see if it lifts off easily. If it does then do it to all the rocks before placing it in the new tank. Corraline will not come off so easy.

+2, I don't see any hair algae, only corraline and perhaps some small red sponges.

Thanks for the help guys. I was pretty sure it was alright but I wanted a second opinion. The tank params are good, and I even have what seems to be, hundreds of baby snails growing along the back of the tank. If you look in the last pic, to the left of the Coral beauty, you can see one on the wall.
