lion fish showing up in puerto rico waters

just been reading up on the case of the lionfish that have invaded caribbean waters and im hoping that when im snorkeling i can see a small one and add em to my collection of caribbean fish in my 150gallon yessssss oh and i dont know why they are illegal over here

yup they are everywhere in tropical waters now, i read about them alot but have yet to see one personally.

They are all over the place herein the Bahamas, mostly seem to be large ones. I want to catch one for my 150 reef - but a small one

yea that would be cool to catch a lion cant be the deal free

Not a trivial thing to catch a lion in a manner safe for fish and the one catching it.

I just got a fuzzy dwarf lion fish, he looks cool, and menacing at the same time

Lionfish have been found as far north as the long island sound!! They had a article in a new york newspaper 2 years ago about them.I would have to guess someone bought one or two and they outgrew their tank and was dumped.If they can acclimate to the cold water they are hearty fish and can hunt small fish all day.Never saw one or caught one in the sound but would be funny

I saw lionfish off the coast of North Carolina in hte early to mid 90's. No one believed me. Now there is a tour company that takes people out to dive a site full of them.

I'm not happy to see them there. Invasive species are never good. But to all the doubters in the 90's. Told ya' so!

Hola baldomero tambn soy d PR, es bueno encontrar mas gente en el hobby, sobre los Lion es cierto q esta en todas las aguas d el Caribe, hace poko me enviaron una foto q tomaron los d el Dive shop en Mayagues sobre un Lion en Crash Boat.

Bueno aqui t dejo unlnk sobre un foro de acuarismo Puertorique~o al cual pertenesco y es muy bueno, espero compartas con nosotros.
