Feeding Mushrooms?

Hi,

I have some mushrooms growing on my rocks, they were fine till today I noticed one is kind of corroding. my tank is in cycle now and I dont have any fish in it yet. should I feed them with anything or its normal for them to die?

hmmm mine have looked pretty crap for a couple of days but they have bounced back... if you are still in cycle i would think that they might not be doing so well... I have never fed my mushrooms and they have grown.... slow growth but they do...

IMO, mushrooms don't need to be fed, they grow just fine (( too fine )) on their own.

But, if your tank is still cycling, that very well would explain what you are seeing.

What are your water parameters, with numbers.

+1 Don't worry about mushrooms, they can survive almost anything.

+2 it's hard enough to kill mushrooms when you want to.

They are filter feaders so you need to do nothing.
They will look like crap and then when your water prams bounce back they will also. They also should be low in your tank. Low to med light.

Mushrooms are like the damsels of coral. along with gsp, they are very hardy and you'll find it harder to kill them than anything else
