Is it in a QT tank? Try treating with copper. it seems that hyposalinity is hit or miss. Some swear by it and others had the same experience you had.

Cant believe everything you read. Who knows if the hypo was done well? Measuring salinity with a bogus hydrometer? I have had success with cupramine for treatment, but with maybe 1 spot on maybe 1 fish, I wouldnt jump to treatment just yet. If it is ich, it means you have ich in your tank, and dont bother treating the fish until it is an apparent problem.

I qt all fish in cupramine for 4 weeks prior to adding in the DT, and dip all corals prior. (sounds like that has been disputed lately though)

Just my thought anyways.

I wouldn't treat with only 1 spot. It could be just a mark. I've done Hypo without success so I always use copper. (I was using a calibrated refractometer not a hydrometer) I know other experienced reefers that have had the same issue. Some swear by it though.
