How often do you clean the inside of your skimmer?

Never. Mine stays in the dark and it doesn't get dirty. except for the collection cup. but I clean that everytime I empty it.

FWIW - When I started, I cleaned my after the second month. Thought I was doing a good thing, only to find out once you take that coating off the inside, you have to go back through the break in period of lots of microbubbles. PITA.

So I agree with the above. Never.

once every 2months, I clean the build up off of the head.

I got my Euro-Reef back in 2002 and I believe I have tore it down once or twice and cleaned it up on the inside.
Otherwise I leave it alone...

If your talking about the body, I have to clean mine out about every 6 months. My refugium lights make coraline grow on the inside like crazy.

I clean mine legalisticially ABSOLUTELY EVERY once in a while. No exceptions!

I only clean the neck/cup everytime I empty it. I never clean the body but maybe I should every once in a while.

I feed some foods with a high fatty-acid content, so the lipids cause my bubble column to collapse. I actually clean mine with soap and water every month or so.
