Things dying

I have a couple of things not doing so hot. Deffinitely on their last leg. Should I remove them as to not foul my water?

Guess it depends on what they are and how big they are and how aure you are they are definitely dying?
I usually tend to try to treat things till they are beyond return.

I would keep doing WCs and wait until they are definately dead.
Sometimes corals will come back after a couple of months of looking like hell. It probably took some time before they really started to show signs of ill health. Best of luck.

Pulsing Zenia a nd a couple of mushrooms that split. The babies for lack of a better term are doing fine. It's the main ones that are hurting.

They weren't all that big to begin with and so I was amazed they were splitting already. But they are diffinitely shriveling up to nothing. It happened pretty quick all within a week. I don't think there's any coming back for these guys

zenias are pretty amazing little weeds. i started my massive colony from one little piece that shriveled up to nothing. i just did a couple of water changes and tested my water quality regularly and they bounced back. it was not as fast as they grow, but once the single colony regained itself, it spread like a weed. just do some water changes and see what happens. i would not give up yet. soft corals are pretty amazing things at being able to come back from a single piece of tissue.

for corals and their health you need to have
calcium at 400 or better ppm
magnesium at 1300 ppm
and alk at 8 to 11.5 dKh ( I don't have a conversion for your alk reading on hand but I think it is on the low end of that preferred range.)

I would suggest you test your calcium and magnesium and then consider using a 2 part dosing system like b-ionics for long term water stability and health of your corals

As others have said 1.7 meq/l (4.7dKh) is way to low. You need to raise it to at least 2.8 meq/l (8 dKh).

Yeah, my goof. 1.7 is the bottom end of safe on the chart. It says 1.7-2.8 is normal. It's a Red Sea, the others are API.
I do have buffers but rarely ad them due to everything looking good until recently. I have some reading to do. Thanks
