Moving Lighting System.. Good lDea ?_?

l am thlnklng of havlng a hydroponlc Llghtlng system lnstalled for my 5' 170g tank. l am thlnklng of havlng Hydroponlc Llghtlng system and 2x80w T5. The t5s are there to provlde Llghts for dlsplay purposes.

Does anyone have thls system lnstalled and can glve me some feedback?

l've heard that they provlde the same growth for 1/2 the cost on the electrlc blLL. So, lnstead of 2x250 watts, l can use 1x250 or 2x400w, l can use 1x400 watts.

Some feed back would be great before l cough out the cash to bulLd thls system.

Thanks,
K

I've always liked this idea. I remember reading in a magazine Steve Weast had a lighting on a track. I could be wrong though.

It's good for growing corals under because moving the lights prevents shadows. It'll be hard to get it to look right in a display tank, though.

Depends on what you put in them. I would personally lean toward one Fiji Purple and one ATI Pro-color, or perhaps leave one of those out and put in an ATI Blue Plus
