Reef Bugs Question
Has anyone used the product Reef Bugs by Marc Weiss?
It looks like they could be cool but something tells me its not that great. Any experiences? |

It appears to be snake oil, with no better reputation than the other elixirs in the line of suspicious origen. On top of that as I understand it, Weiss divorced and ex has right to his name and sells the products now. Above average LFS won't carry any of it. Best for those who want to know little about reef chemistry and animal husbandry as possible and just want to dump stuff in tank and watch it boil over. YMMV.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. For some reason though, I still want to try them. I might look into some invert life cycle stuff first to see if it's even possible.

Well, I tried it. I used it in a large brute can that I'm cycling marco rocks in and I'm definately seeing small "bugs" in the water. I will look at the water closely under my microscope soon to see what they are. They are swimming like copepods. I only have one small piece of live rock in there and their hasn't been anything swimming around before adding the bugs.

Look, here's the deal. I could go into a long story of why I'm gonna try these but I wont. I'm just gonna try them and let you know. It seems there are a lot of haters of just about everything on this forum. Some like this... some don't... I'm as confused as you. Its day number two. I'll keep you posted. 20 dollars. If it sucks I'll be honest u got my word.
