I Have An Oil Slick!!!!
I just went down into my deep dark pit of a basement... And I ALMOST hooked up my hose to the pump that I have in my RO reserve tank... and it was smelly. So I chalked it up to the dark, dank basement... and continued. I reached down into the water, and I had a hard time holding on to the wee circulation pump that I had running... undaunted... I pressed on, and got a good grip. I hooked the hose up to it... it popped off a couple times... I coughed... odd aroma. I looked around... nothing out of the ordinary... just a dark... dank... pit. I looked in the barrel, to see how much water I actually had left... and noticed a rainbow.
I called for my wife to throw my flashlight down to me. (She wont get within 2 feet of the door, let alone actually come down) and I shined the light into the barrel... and there it was. An oil slick IN THE BARREL. W T F. I cover the barrel with a garbage bag, so the spiders dont fall in, and turn into a snack for the Dansels... and posibly throw them off their diet. And I hold it down with a chunk of 1/4" acrylic. There was actually a brownish scum on the RO hose that was floating in the water. The pump is a 'Little Giant' and this is all I have every used it for. Pumping out tanks, and mixing saltwater. Do they have oil in them? I got the tank from a farm supply place... and I have used it for a couple weeks now. Well, the good news is none of that water made it to my tank. The bad news is, I don't know where it came from... and I don't know if I can get it all out of that barrel... AND I guess I am out of a pump now. Anyone got any thoughts on this? Or anything else for that matter? lol

I know it.
Has anyone cracked a Little Giant open? I see it is not a sealed unit, like a lot of them seem to be... anyone?
