put the biggest sump in that will fit in your space (under tank or another room) you can put your skimmer, heaters, rturn pump, ect in your sump you could have a DSB and fuge in your sump also

as for lights depends what you want to keep sps,lps or softies

I have a 20 gallon sump. It is what the manufacturer (glasscages) recommended. I would definitely would go with the 29 gallon if I had to do it again. Depending on your stand you could go larger and I would if I could.

I am still new to this hobby. But from the research I have done I would recommend sticking to fish that don't get more than about 5 inches long. It will keep the bioload easier to manage.

Only other advice would be to do LOTS of research. There are opinions about everything out there and you are going to have to make a lot of decisions.

the coral you get depends on the lights you get. i have 48" t5 4 bulb nova extreme. and my tank stays at about 80 to 81 degrees. if you get mh you will need to figure out, how to cool it down chiller or a fan on the sump.
