Hofel Gurgle Buster - Did I Do It Right?
I made one of these contraptions and it seems to work great.
My question is whether the water in the overflow is supposed barely stay above the highest point of the Gurgle Buster (the cap). So basically the entire thing is submerged, which is why it's quiet. Seems to be the opposite of putting a gate valve in the sump and restricting the overflow exhaust. Just want to make certain I did it correctly, as I don't want a flood. |

Just make sure the tube that comes out of the top is no higher than you ever want your water to get. If you want to test the full siphon just put your finger over the end of the tube. It will drain the overflow pretty quick.

I stuck my finger over the airline tube out the top and it made the overflow drain quickly to the edge of the device.....so it basically worked similarly but was just noisy.
I keep the overflow about 3/5 full of water, so the device is close to the top of the overflow. I'll double check the height of the airline tube. I believe I need to cut it shorter. Thanks.
