cloudy water

I just set up my 55 gallon with a sand substrate, I do not have my sump set up yet, am waiting for the baffle glass to be finished. Does anyone know of a way to clear up the cloudy water so i can finish setting up the live rock? It is slowly clearing up, but it has been a couple of days now. and it is still tough to see. I can set up temporary filtration using a hang on the back filter, if that is the solution.

Thanks

Unclouding your water is way down the list of things you need to worry about right now, to be honest. Did you rinse the sand before you put it in? If you didn't, you will get silty cloud for a couple weeks. Hell, I still get pasty stuff in my skimmer cup now over a month later. Every time you put water in, change the flow, move a rock, stir up stuff you will get more silt. I hung 2 Aquaclear 300s on mine for a few days, and totally loaded them with foam, and cleaned them out completely everyday. But I DIDN'T rinse the new sand... mistake.

Honestly, you kinda need to get all the plumbing done. The pumps and sumps and powerheads and such... THEN get the water in. Live rocks in a tank that cloudy with coat the rocks with silt.
