Neptune AquaController Jr

I have a question regarding the Neptune Aqua Controller.

I have a pretty intense light going on my tank

either the coralife pro 2x250metal halide and the 4 50 watt actinics and moonlighting or the geissmen equivalent.

Is this going to be to many watts to run thru this controller?

You aren't running the amps/watts through the controller, just the DC8 power module. I'd add up my total amperage and make sure you don't exceed the maximum amps for the DC8. If you are close (or over) then add a DC4 (heavy duty) and run them off that. I'd also look at your wall outlets and make sure you aren't going to pop the breakers too. You can plug the DC8 and DC4 into separate circuits if need be.

okay, i dont have a great understanding of these units at all. Truthfully i bought one today, and i dont really know what i have coming.

So the powerbar itself plugs into the wall? and then the controller just talks to the powerbar? I think ill have max like 700 watts running thru the light and then 2 Hydor koralia 3's on the powerbar aswell to run on a wave simulation. the rest is on seperate breakers (main return pump, and refugium light, etc)

One more thing. I know the unit comes with a PH setup. What should i buy to go with this controller to control my PH?

That is correct. The Jr just communicates the program to the powerbar. I would add the total amperage of your equipment you want controlled then make sure you aren't exceeding the amount for the powerbar.

I have over 700 watts of lighting, a 250 watt heater, return pump & fans on my AC jr with no issue. It's been like that for months.

You can always use an expansion socket to disperse the load if the lights are too much. It plugs into a DC8/4/4hd and then uses another power chord so that you are not pulling any juice through the DC unit I use one to run my 2x250 halides. they run about $40, so it isn't that expensive.
