Question the premade water sold at LFS????

Im not sure of the company that makes it but im sure you all know what im talking about it is sold in i 5g jug and it is premixed and ready to go. I am staring a new biocube tank and since i do not have anywater made i was thinking about going and buying some of those since its only a 29g tank and the price on them isnt to bad. Since this water contains some bacteria this should help out with the cycle of the tank right?? This is the first time i have ever used this stuff so i was wondering if anyone else uses it and what there feelings on it are.

Thanks chris

There are a few items like that. Which one in specific? Is it natural sea water?

I would certainly test the water if I were buying it.

dont buy the premade water from LI F&R he doesnt runa DI and its only 1.019sg. IF you mean the nutra sea or carribean sea water its fine, just check that the foil seal is still sealed and they store isnt trying to jerk you.

I dont think it provides any benifit over the water we mix at home as long as you have a good ro/di.

Caribsea, Worldwide imports, Two little fishies, etc...all make jugs of sea water. They are a good choice if you have a smaller tank and want to keep things simple when starting up.

Now i cant vouch for saltwater made at all the different lfs's. I know of only one i would use, and its in waterford MI (Moby).

I hope it never catches on, I like having the oldest tank on here and I don't have to worry about calcification, bio pellets, Vodka dosing, DSBs, Chaetomorpha (I don't even know what that is) Carbonite hardness and all of these other things many people worry about.

If I had to think about all of that stuff I would get a stroke.
My test kit came in a wooden box and the directions say to keep in a cool chariott.
I throw some food in the tank, wave hello to the fish and go out with my wife and have a nice glass of merlot with dinner.
Have a great day but most of all, have fun.

just buy some salt and some purified water and mix your own, that way you know it hasnt been on the shelf with the sun hitting it for a couple of years

For $1.60 / gal they don't even use a DI? Glad I never bought any, and just got my own RO/DI.
