Hard tube/worm growth on Frogspawn.
I've tried googling, but can't find anything.
But it apears that what is in this tube eats the stringy mucas of the frogspawn next to this batch. Last night, I watched it eat about an 8 inch string of it. Now what is this worm? ![]() |

I have those all over my chalice frag plugs. Break them off they are competing for the food your corals want to eat.

I believe the "string" you are referring to is a sort of web that the worm excretes, captures food in it, then pulls it back in to consume the catch.
I have these all over my tank including on my frogspawn and I don't give them a second thought. -Eric |

they are vermitid snails
and yes they produce the web to catch particles in the water. kinda like a feather duster just with a little less pleasing view. http://www.melevsreef.com/id/vermetid.html I have them as well. never bothered anything but my eyes lol
