Post BRS GFO Installation Update w/pics

Well I got it installed (Single BRS GFO Reactor...so far with the MJ 900 it came with. A snap to install. The tank is becoming a real Frankenstein equipment-wise but I'm hoping to be setting up a much larger tank in the coming months if the wife and I can ever close on the house we're looking at.

Already clearer water and my frogspawn is bleaching a bit which I take it is caused by the sudden reduction in zooxanthellae.

So far so good. Posted a couple pics post-gfo.

Some of the algae's I was pulling....all completely gone.

Some bleaching in the Frogspawn.

Frankenstein.

I recently added the same thing to my tank (I got the dual chamber instead) and loved how easy it was to set up. The difference is noticeable, though I'm still running a low amount of GFO to make sure my tank has time to adjust to the low nutrient level. Your tank looks great BTW.

Thanks. I used the initial amount as directed by the instructions. I had read that many will cut the inital dose in half but the directions from BRS insinuated that that is what I was doing. Hope it wasn't too much.

Yeah, being that your frogspawn looks like it bleached a bit, you may have used a bit much, but I guess as long as everything doesn't start dying, you should be fine.

I just stuck two BRS reactors in my tank. One is running their HC GFO and the other is ROX 0.8 carbon. I did the same as you and put in what sounded like half the normal amount per their instructions. No problems so far. That deluxe reactor of theirs is very well made.

Well I'm still getting noticeable bleaching on one of my Frogspawn (15 heads - only the lower heads seem effected so far) though nothing else looks effected so far (including my other Frogspawns).

Hope they make the adjustment..would hate to lose them.
