Hello from St. Louis! Intro and lighting question.
Hello, all!
Just a brief intro: I've been keeping freshwater planted tanks for 15+ years and also had a figure-eight puffer for about 6 years (still my favorite fish!) I had started a 55 gallon saltwater tank about 10 years ago but sold it after less than a year as I had to move. I have a 29 gallon (standard glass 30" long) that I will be setting up. My main goal for this tank is 2-3 very small fish, polyps, mushrooms, and various snails/small crabs. The tank hasn't been started yet, so I am currently living vicariously through my boyfriend’s tank (20-something gallon bow front.) I am already planning on making frames of PVC pipe, acrylic rods, egg crate and zip ties to create a very open aquascape with tunnels, arches and caves. We plan on redesigning his with these methods as well. I've been doing a lot of research and have decided on the Tunze Nano Reefpack 200 skimmer/filter. My main dilemma at the moment is lighting. I have only ever used PC lighting but have been looking into T5s. I need a complete fixture with mounting legs as I am unable to hang pendants and am not willing to build a hood myself. I LOVE the look of halides, but can’t seem to find a 30” fixture anywhere online. So, does anyone own the Current USA SunDial T5HO 4x24 with Timers & LED or similar? I open to recommendations! Thanks for any input and I hope to get things started soon! |
