Coverting Fresh water tank to salt water?
I have a tank that was used for 3-4 months with fresh water(tap water being used) what do I need to do to covert it to a invert safe saltwater set up?

First, were any copper-containing medications used in the tank? If so, I wouldn't chance it. If not, it's pretty easy:
1) Drain the tank, remove the substrate. 2) Rinse out as best you can (i.e. with a hose), scrub off any deposits. 3) Soak in tap water with vinegar (roughly 10% vinegar should be fine). 4) Scrub again, rinse, let dry for a day or two. That's how I would do it, anyway. Best of luck. |

Like LockeOak said, basically give it some good TLC, make sure it's nice and clean and you are all set.
