ICE CAP FAN 18" probe?

There's a 3 wire which is connected to the fan, I read the instructions which isnt clear whether its a probe or not. Do i put this in the water? or....what?

Post in the IceCap forum I'm sure they can help you there. Personally for the fan I don't think you put it the probe into water.
