Apex display not working
This is my first controller and after crawling though the setup and just when I was ready to celebrate my sucess the display module stopped working. Is there something in the setup where I might have shut it off? Both status lights are green which I assume is good. My ethernet port has a green and an orange so that might be the problem? The troubleshooting page is a little short on information. Guess I will have to call on Monday. Please help if you can.

The display has a day brighness and night brightness but what you describe doesn't sound like it's just very dim...
Try unplugging the display and plugging it again, try a different port (the display can be in any port on the base or the EB8). All devices are hot pluggable (you don't need to power down the unit to unplug/plug). Hopefully that helps.

Thanks for your respone I already tried a diiffern't port with no luck. I take it there is no on/off button on the apex display screen.

I switched the ports, not quite sure what you mean by power cycle. Still no luck. Has any one heard of some units failing?

I love and hate this damn controller and the lack of support! Can't ever seem to find any clear-cut answers to anything regarding problems when they crop up. Not sure what happened I changed a setting with the fusion web portal and all the sudden everything started flashing green or yellow and all of my modules i've tried rebooting with a power cycle and now my aqua controller is just a blue screen the main apex module is green but all the other modules are either flashing yellow or flashing green ???

Have you submitted a ticket on Neptune's website? Probably have to wait until Monday, but they'll get to you...

All i did was adjust my ph off point on my co2 rx.. and all shut down what's weird is I couldn't get anything to boot back up I ended up unplugging everything piece by piece sensor by sensor as I have 3 EB8's the par monitor the salinity module a jaebo controller, and every time I would connect my EE B8 in the basement for my some stuff would start going haywire like my fuge lights going off etc. to make a long story short there must've been a short in one of the USB extension cable's that went down to the basement and fortunately I had a back up still in its packaging that I swapped out and bang everything works again. But then I noticed that my pH was it 6.49 and my calcium reactor CO2 tank was not shutting down last week I had to change the name of my pH probe from PH2 to PHT and I successfully calibrated the monitor. I remember having a problem with this a couple of years ago with name choices for the pH probes. So I just changed it back to PH2 and waiting to see if my cotank gets shut off

there a lot of stuff depending on this apex, and changing an off point from 6.55 to 6.6 or what i name my ph probe should not result in this kind of behavior!

What firmware are you running?
Only reason I ask is that I remember the probe naming issues being a problem a while back... specifically the pH probe wanting to rename itself... and I think that's been fixed in more recent firmware. |

4.51_2E17 is the latest firmware. I would suggest updating. Be sure to follow the directions and make a backup of your outlet programming first!

Is the display not working at all, or is it all blue? If it's blue, try updating the display firmware in the classic dashboard.

A few thoughts...
1. You said you'd renamed your pH probe. Did you double check that the name of the probe in the probe setup page matches the probe name in your programming? 2. What outlet are you controlling the solenoid from? Remember that you want low Wattage devices on either #4 or #8 on an EB8. Any other outlets may not reliably turn off devices that pull less than about 5 Watts (more or less). 3. Post your programming for that outlet and maybe we can spot something. |
