Yellow Wrasse ????

Will a Yellow Wrasse bother my claims, corals, or Cleaner shrimp?
In my 180 now I have Naso Tang, Sail Fin tang, 2 clowns, Copper Band and cleaner shimp.
Thanks
Brooks

You'll have to be more specific on what kind of wrasse it is.

It may go after a small cleaner shrimp or any small crustacean that it can fit in its mouth.

My cleaner shimp is about 2.5 to 3 inches in size.
I don't mind him eating pods but I don't want him snaking on my clams, corals, and cleaner shrimp.
I am wanting him becuase he is really cool looking and to help with any flat worms that maybe in the tank.

Yellow Coris Wrasse is typically a yellow halichoeres wrasse (not a true coris) and typically reef safe. Keep it well fed and you ought to be fine. They're good at keeping pests in check (even pyramilled snails that attack clams).

I had. I got rid of him. I loved the bright yellow coloration but I like cleaner shrimp more. Good luck on yours if you get one.

They are one of my favorite/most useful fish. I have never seen any that I've kept attack shrimp. They control pest populations from Montipora eating nudibranchs to Pyramid snails. The only drawback I have found is sometimes they jump. Dragonets are better at controlling flatworms though.

I have a yellow coris wrasse in my reef tank, with clams, cleaner shrimps, starfish etc. This fish has been a model citizen for about 8 months now. GREAT FISH IMO.

A great addition (though call it a canary wrasse ... coris is the wrong genus), I've never heard of one harassing shrimp. Pods, tiny snails (as in less than 1/4"), small worms, etc. are going to be consumed, but they have small mouths and don't get very large. I'd highly recommend them.

Awesome fish, i love mine. Doesn't bother any hermits or either of my pep shrimp. Always active but a little skiddish when i put my hand in the tank.

I'm on my 2nd one, the last one jumped so be sure you have a top on your tank!
