Sump from Ebay good quality, K2 tight fit

I debated building or buying a sump, really wanted acrylic, but couldn't handle the price from most commercial and custom builders, so initially I decided to build one from a 29gal tank. Then by chance I found acrylic ones on Ebay, eaglek062 is the store/seller, at a good price, I was skeptical at first, but checked the feedback, all good. I wanted something different for the panels, they were very helpful and the custom change was only $20 more. Shipping was around $40 or so from OH to TN, total cost was around $200, so I was pleased.

It was completed close to on schedule, packing was top notch with double boxing. So far looks like a great build, exactly like the drawing I sent them. Will do water test in next couple days.

I WAS SWEATING THE K2 FIT... I ordered it before getting the sump in hand... Dumb Dumb me, forgot 15" wide was not internal opening, but overall...so 14.5 opening wide considering 1/4" thickness of sides...Jon at WM said 15x12 to fit, well I didn't have a 15" space either way...so I was NERVOUS...at first I thought for sure it would not fit, then once together, it just barely made it in...I mean by 1/16" in some spots...like playing Twister or a 3D puzzle.

So here are some pics, I'll finialize the overall review.

Tried to show the minor bubbles in the panel to wall seams, is this normal to see these, haven't looked at enough acrylic work to know...

like a glove...

You also could have rotated the pump block on the stand 180 degrees to buy another .25"

Ahhhhh, yes...thanks, been a long day didn't realize it off hand...

The sump is 30x15x15, approx 30gal...the right will be the refugium, left for return.

The skimmer is top notch...it actually scared me when I opened the box, especially the gate valve...my wife was like, "what are you going to do with that thing..." Hadn't heard that kind of surprise in her voice in awhile, LOL...
