Too Much Flow...????
So im designing a small tank that will sit on my dresser yet its not a nano. I have my mind set on a 56g tall tank. The only thing im stuck on is my question how much flow is too much? I have a reeflow dart sitting around thats never been used and i was going to use it for the closed loop but after calculating the flow it comes out to about 53.57times turnover after headloss. I know most shoot for 40x or 30x but is 53x too much? I was only going to run it on a 10 hour aday cycle to not stress too much. Thats roughly 50 gallons a minute or 0.8333 gallons a seconds. Thats alot for such a small tank. Will the basic fish enjoy or be bothered by such flow. Also including the 900 gallon per hour sump pump is that too much for a 56? Any inputs would be great. Sorry such a noob question.
