Plumbing question
I am working on redoing the plumbing on my 35g and 10g sump. I did a horrible, although only temporary job doing it the first time and needed a few questions answered please. I have the plumbing to the sump covered with what is actually an old wet/dry kit (i think) but it works great and it is flexible.
I have a Mag 9 return which may be a bit much but it is what I have. I need to plumb in some sort of flexible pipe and was wondering if vinyl tubing (1") would work or if I would need to stick with flexible PVC. If PVC, where can I obtain it locally? I was unable to find any at Lowes, nor could I find an associate to help me out if they did have it. Also, on a completely different issue, I would like to run my new phosban reactor off of a small maxijet, any problems with this? I would set the reactor in the sump area and pump water out of the sump to the reactor and let it feed back into the sump. |

you can use vinyl tubing for your return although pvc looks more cleaner. As long as you have the right size maxijet for the reactor, i dont see any issues.

Thanks for the quick response. Guess I will get the vinyl and then see how that works for now. It is black vinyl and will be well hidden so as long as it functions well that is all that I need.
The reactor pump flow can be restricted, I believe i have a mj400 lying around and if not I still have a mj900 i know isn't in use. Either way I would need to restrict the flow as from what I can tell it needs to be around 30gph going through the reactor. |
