Question about Koralia Pumps and supplementing flow in my tank
I'm confused as it seems that Koralia have two types of pumps available...ones that are controllable (by the expensive Koralia Wavemaker) and ones that aren't controllable by any type of wavemaker? I'm looking to supplement the returns on my system...figure approximately 600gph from each of the returns in the back corner of the tank (2) with something that I can eventually hook up to a wavemaker if I want.
I currently have a Koralia nano on one side and a Hagen 402? powerhead on the other and I have had really good flow for the last month that my tank has been up..no dead spots in my sand, everything swirling around nicely. I'd like to get two Koralias and eventually be able to control them if I wanted to add a wavemaker. I won't spend the money on a Vortech...I have seen too many for sale in the "for sale" forums and have heard of too many that break down and have to go back for repair or replacement parts...I don't care if they have great service...for $350 to $450 for a pump, those things should be rock solid and I don't get the impression they are.

Actually there are 3 types. The original non-controllable K-nano to K-4 (they do work with a Seio Controller), the expensive controllable K-1 to K-4 and K-5 to K-8 which are make to run on a regular on/off wavemaker. 2 K-5's (1650 gph x 2) might be more flow than you want in a 75...depending on your plans.

Is the Seio controller you're referring to this one: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_viewit...csegooglebase2 It says on the Marine Depot "Do not operate the SEIO controller with any other type of pump"...are you running this setup? others?

Following... I would be intersted in finding out more about the seio controller and the original K-nano-K-4.
