Brine had very little nutritional value, mysis is much better.
Look at Rods Reef Food, it is amazing! Their "origional" blend contains everything from 5 micron size cyclopeze to mysis. Great stuff!!! |

Mysis is way better. Your fish will become addicted to brine. I also feed garlic pellets and a mix of squid and others.

I try to have a variety of frozen foods and feed different combinations each time so they don't get tired of the same thing.
Here's what I feed: PE mysis Hikari mysis H2O mini mysis H2O spirulina enriched brine/mysis Rod's Food(original) Ocean Nutrition(Spirulina, Angel, Formula 1 & Formula 2) I thaw and rinse all of it then soak everything in BA AminOmega, Vita Chem, BA MaxAmino and garlic. Then I rinse again and feed. For corals and clams I feed frozen Cyclop-eeze, DT's Phyto, Polyp Lab reef-roids, coral frenzy, reef chili, ESV spray dried phyto and ZeoVit coral food. I feed this almost everyday. I also feed them New Life Spectrum flake and pellets.

I hope it never catches on, I like having the oldest tank on here and I don't have to worry about calcification, bio pellets, Vodka dosing, DSBs, Chaetomorpha (I don't even know what that is) Carbonite hardness and all of these other things many people worry about. If I had to think about all of that stuff I would get a stroke. My test kit came in a wooden box and the directions say to keep in a cool chariott. I throw some food in the tank, wave hello to the fish and go out with my wife and have a nice glass of merlot with dinner. Have a great day but most of all, have fun. -PaulB Current Tank Info: 27 Gallon DAS softy/fish reef |
