brittle star orange pouches?

So for the first time in a while I actually saw my brittle star's body (fancy brittle star I think, tan stripes, bristly legs) and noticed orange "pouches" on it's body. Is this normal coloration or is he carrying some eggs or something? Am I about to have hundreds of brittle star babbies in my 29g??

Also while he's one of my favorite inverts in the tank (each leg is now about 12" and he always draws wonderment from guests) I worry that he's just gotten too large for my tank. Will he attack any fish? I mostly seem to hear about them getting blennys which I don't have right now...
