I don't think I would worry about 001 ppm. How are you testing the water?

Have you change your Pre-filter and Carbon?

To figure out if your RO membrane is shot you will need to know the TDS of your tap, and then the TDS of the post RO (( but before the DI )). If that rejection rate is worse then the stated rate for your membrane, it is time to replace it.

An example using a DOW filmtec 75 GPD RO membrane (( which has a 96-98% rejection rate )).
If your tap's TDS is 100, and the post RO TDS is higher then 5 I would order a new one.

.001 is good, what is the TDS before the DI resin (after the RO membrane)?

get a hand held tds too, to check against eachother.
You will have to change your filters more with well water espesialy the prefilter and DI. is that reading 00.1 or 0.01 or 001. or .001?
Even if its 1.0 its not a problem just curious.
Also run about a gal through it before you take a reading or make water for the tank, it will be a little lower.
also make sure that what ever the water is in is sterile I use a sandwich bag to hold the water inside a cup to hold the bag. try these and report back your findings
