Need Help Quick

So i came home today and i found my fuge light sitting in my fuge (It had a reg everday bulb in it) and the bulb broke But my power strip turned my hole system off what should i do? if there anything toxic in a light bulb?

My approch would be a larg water change and fully empty out the conpartment in my sump that the light broke in just to make sure i got all the glass and what not

how big is the light that broke? waterchange is a good start. I really don't think that there's enough in bulbs to hurt your tank. It's a good thing that it didn't fry your entire tank.

Granular activated carbon (GAC) and polyfilter are my best friends when anything goes wrong.

The glass itself on an incandescent bulb should't be toxic but the metal exposed to the water may contain copper which can affect inverts/corals. The power being off may also have depleted oxygen levels.

Having removed the light fixture I would recommend getting flow going ASAP and adding carbon and polyfilter to the system. A sponge or other filter media should catch any loose pieces of glass before it enters the pump but I wouldn't make removing the glass a priority until you're sure the tank is stable. Take a fish net, scoop out what you can and leave the glass cleanup for another day.

jmo,

when i put my light on my fuge i clamped it to the center brace of my stand then i tied it with some fishing line(far enough away so that the heat wouldnt mess with it. idk if the heat would effect it anyway though). i did this just incase the clamp slips and light falls. this way the bulb wont fall in the fuge. just dangle above it until i notice and fix it. just throwing some preventative ideas out. but i agree big water change was a good idea.

I would have been more worried about frying the tank as well. Thank god that power strip cut the electricity before everything got zapped. Glad to see you got it all worked out.
